Mac App Store edition
Your focus stays yours.
Last updated: 13 September 2026.
This policy covers the Mac App Store edition of FocusGuard, currently in development. It does not describe browser-attempt statistics in the earlier desktop edition shown on the homepage.
Who to contact
FocusGuard is developed by Ardit Daku. For support or privacy questions, email arditdaku10@gmail.com.
Information stored on your Mac
FocusGuard stores your selected websites, session deadline, reminders, saved focus setups and saved thoughts locally. Session rules are also saved in the macOS network-filter configuration so the approved system extension can enforce them. The app does not operate a cloud account or sync service and does not send this information to the developer.
How the filter handles connections
The system extension checks hostnames made available by macOS. For some new connections, it briefly examines a bounded portion of the outgoing connection header to find a hostname. It does not decrypt encrypted traffic. It does not save connection contents or browsing history, and it does not send connection contents to the app or developer. Connections without an identifiable hostname are allowed.
No advertising or browser monitoring
This edition has no advertising, third-party analytics or developer-operated tracking service. It does not request Accessibility access to watch your browser, record browser visits, or produce visit statistics. Reminder previews are opened by you.
Exports and deletion
If you export reminders, the file is written to the location you choose. You control sharing of that file. Saved thoughts, reminders and saved setups can be removed in the app. Active session rules remain until the session deadline and can be replaced when starting a later session. Removing the app alone may leave its local settings or macOS filter configuration; disable the filter in System Settings and contact support if you need help removing remaining configuration.
Support messages and purchases
If you email support, your email address, message and any attachments are processed by the email providers used to deliver and receive the message, including Gmail. Please avoid sending private browsing information or personal reminders. Contact the same address if you want your support correspondence deleted.
Purchases and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are handled under Apple's policies. FocusGuard does not receive your payment-card details. See Apple's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated when the app's data handling changes. The date above identifies the current policy.
